Another Student Exhibition
A few weeks ago I visited another student final year art exhibition, it was in Sutton Coldfield College Design Centre, just 5 minutes round the corner from my office
Here are some images of my favorable/most interesting items. And of course my comments also.
This comic strip was very well drawn, there was also blood splattered at the bottom corner of the installation space to mirror the storyline:

Some nice colourful angsty posters:

“But it’s just a shed” I hear you cry. No it’s not. Look through the cracks in the wood and you can see inside a hideous disturbing serial killer/child napper’s den. Photos on walls, little creepy old cracked face dolls and a small dingy bed. It was seriously disturbing! I couldn’t look for long, it was freaking me out.

More creepyness… not quite sure what it is supposed to be. It was like what you might expect to see if you opened a locked cupboard in a serial killers house. Sort of like a shrine to something obscene. This and the shed above were not the only installations in this sort of theme. Everyone wanted to be ‘edgy’ and ‘dark’ it seemed.

I love the posters, and the comics look really well designed. The shed concept doesn’t agree with me at all, I like the idea of having to peer through the cracks – but then in my opinion some things just aren’t meant for public display. The research for that project must have been ghastly.
Nice finds.
Thanks Danny
There was also a bizarre broken up old bath on the floor on display’, not sure what that piece of ‘modern art’ was meant to represent! ha ha
I think it’s just a bit of chickenwire applied to the front of one of the openings.
Yes this is an exhibition at an art school/course from the students, I went to another one here >
