Wall Art Gift?…For Me?

Wall Art

Big thanks to the guys over at Pimp My Art who very kindly sent me a beautiful piece in the post from their plastic wall art collection.

It actually gave me the impetus required to finally get round to painting one of the walls of my office in mocha as originally intended – I’ve only had the paint for 4 months!

I painted the wall yesterday morning before even checking my emails – now that’s will power.

My plastic wall art arrived in perfect condition and as promised by Pimp My Art, very easy to affix to the wall, because rather than being canvas, the art is printed onto lightweight plastic. I’ve literally blue-tacked mine to the wall … though I’d probably advise you use some of those sticky pad things you can get (I’ll get some), especially for a larger piece.

The plastic appears to be very durable – well in fact I know it is, because I dropped it on the floor at one point, and it hit the corner of the art frame and barely even marked/dented it … ha ha.

This is another cool piece:

….and their bespoke work looks fab, can you imagine having your snaps presented together like this!

  • Kate:

I like the one you have chosen, you can’t even tell it looks plastic, it does seem to sit away from the wall is that just the design do you think or have you actually sat it off the walk?

  • It’s sort of like matte plastic, so it’s not mega shiny or anything.

It’s sitting away from the wall just as much as the distance of a sizeable blob of blue tack, which is what I used :)

My proper tabs turned up the post now though from Pimp My Art and those are definitely much better so I’m using those now. They do still put the artwork a tiny distance from the wall, about a mm or so, which looks nice.
