If you are a visual/creative person you will love these movies. I’m a big fan of technicolour movies, musicals and many other films that I think are ‘visually interesting’.

I’ve mentioned shopping before as a visual treat, and film is another great place to go for creative inspiration. How many of these movies have you seen?

1. Seven Brides For Seven Brothers - Technicolour at it’s best.

2. The Wizard Of Oz – Classic technicolour stunner.

3. The Nightmare Before Christmas – visually stunning and fantastic musical score also.

4. The King & I - the theatre scene in this movie is particularly stunning visually and musically, a strong memory from my childhood. Costumes are stunning.

5. The Thomas Crown Affair -(new version), the sets, the fashion, the glamour, the locations…fantastic music.

6. The Phantom Of The Opera (newest version), the sets, costumes and scale of it all are amazing. I love this story and incredibly visually impressive on the stage also.

7. Mary Poppins – not a particular favourite of mine now I’m no longer a child … but we all have to admit that combining cartoon with film was one of those ‘ground breaking moments’ in movie making.

8. That’s it I’m stuck at 7!!

All of these also combine great music with the great visuals, so they are a visual and auditory treat. Can you think of any more? There must be more.
