Well isn’t this interesting (well, to me anyway )

On Sunday I was in the Island Bar in Birmingham, listening to some bands play and admiring the general bohemian atmosphere and studying the wall illustrations dotted around and then randomly a couple of days later I happened upon this blog by Stina Jones, one of the illustrators.

Stina’s work for the Island bar was for the design freize on their glass frontage, which is really well executed and I like the way the ‘Island Bar’ name has been integrated into the design also. Shown below.

What I also found coincidental, is that reading her blog I discovered that she’s also responsible for the lovely folk style illustrations in Birmingham’s Rose Villa Tavern, which I was admiring just a few short weeks beforehand.
