Logo Icon In Browser Address Bar
![]()
You may have noticed that some websites have a small icon, usually a small square version of the company logo showing up in the browser address bar, and also this appears when you add these sites to your ‘favourites’ folder.
Do you want one for your business website? It’s a fairly easy process to get one - the stages for getting the favicon onto your site are;
1. Create a tiny web graphic representing your brand that is exactly 16×16 pixels in size. You can start out by creating this in jpeg or gif format, which is are two different types of website graphic formats.
2. Convert or save this initial graphic into .ico file type (just trying to name it .ico will not work, but there are free online converter tools available if you look - http://www.flavicon.com/converter for example). When you save the new file, it’s vital that you call it favicon.ico and save this file to the same folder that holds your .html web pages and website images.
3. Upload this favicon.ico to your website server, such as www.trulyace.bcmlocal.co.uk/ - ie. don’t put it in a folder like www.trulyace.bcmlocal.co.uk/folder/
