Vintage Sweethearts Indeed!

Vintage Sweethearts Photography

The second I walked into the Found! student art gallery space on Thursday last week (see my last blog) my retro obsessed eye spotted this vintage styled gallery booth in the distance and between that and the incredibly cool vintage inspired girls lingering around I could barely contain myself from trying to take sneak photos of them as they stood next to me during the speeches.

This installation belongs to student Emma Harrison and aims (and doing a fine job of it too) to promote
Vintage Sweethearts (vintage photography). Below are my fabulous photos from her gallery space, complete with girls!

You cannot imagine how excited I was when she posed like this for me! How retro CUTE! :D

Look at her awesome tattoos!

It’s a stag! Now that is retro cool. It looks even better in the flesh.

Now onto the actual photography work below (ahem, sorry … too excited about the vintage inspired girls) :D

As you can see, a lot of effort went into this installation, and indeed the photography. Well done Emma! :)

  • Wow, really great work! The presentation is excellent too. And that girls tattoo looks immense!

  • Her tattoo is the biz. Look how cool those tats are on that lady on your tumblr page!

  • I know how great is it? Found it on deviantart! I absolutely love tattoos, want a sleeve done down my right arm eventually. Going to take time though cos I want to design it all myself, and lots of money, and lots of pain!

  • Interesting you should say that because a couple of times when I’ve known someone with a tattoo I’ve thought to myself “I could design you an awesome tattoo” and I’d really enjoy something like that.

But then there would be the fear of them sitting there freshly inked going “pah, actually that looks crap on”. Can you imagine! :O

I’d never tattoo myself because I know for sure that no matter how fab the design is, eventually I would get bored of it.

  • I’ve had those thoughts too! I’ve actually been thinking about tattoo design lately as a career. :| Quite flexible too because any sketched designs could be further developed in Photoshop and Illustrator to satisfy that craving!

But then I think to myself it’s the same as when your drawing on paper and you think, damn I wish I was in Illustrator so I can press UNDO!

  • I know, it’s not like a printing error either that can be reprinted is it?!! Once it’s messed up, they can only spend a fortune lasering it off to rectify it.

Scary design work for that reason I think! :D Oooo the responsibility!
