Fashion Design Success

I was absolutely delighted to visit the Shop For Bags website yesterday evening and see that my longstanding US client (owner of retail businesses Katydid Collection and the massively successful wholesale business Shop For Bags) had put her Breast Cancer charity motif design to excellent use.
The motif was commissioned to be printed onto race day t-shirts as ‘Katydid Collection’ was the Pledge Sponsor for Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure (Breast Cancer) last weekend in Dallas, Texas.
We are currently working on a new t-shirt design for the Katydid Collection. I’d say what it is but I know that she has issues with people stealing designs so I wouldn’t want to give her competitors a heads up
Some images of the Breast Cancer ribbon motif in action;

If you look closely at these t-shirts it looks like little rhinestones have been put around the edge of the design on the front of the garment and you can see how the Katydid Collection logo (designed by us also), is printed on the bottom right of each t-shirt design.
These t-shirt designs are now for sale in the Shop For Bags wholesale fashion website.
Some fabulous photos from the race event:

The Katydid Collection products going down a storm by the looks of things below;

Katy, who is an amazing entrepreneur even sent box sets of the cancer ribbon t-shirts to a range of celebrities, including Jennifer Aniston. See below Katy putting the logo design we created for Katydid Collection to great use.

Katy’s Story
Founder of Katydid Collection and Shop For Bags Katy Messersmith has an interesting story behind the launch of these two successful ventures.
10 years ago Katy, at the time a newly graduated community health major, boarded a plane for Ghana, Africa to volunteer at a women’s prenatal clinic.
Soon after landing she discovered her suitcases had been misplaced and had no choice but to work with the village seamstresses to make sufficient replacement shirts, skirts, handbags and more for the duration of her stay.
On her return to Texas Katy set about utilising Ebay to sell some of her surplus items and when successful decided to start selling more fashions in bulk.
In her first year of selling wholesale fashions Katy turned over $250,000 worth of sales, and by the third year this had reached $500,000. In 2008 Katy’s retail sales reached $3.5 million.
Shop For Bags continues to flourish as Katy’s first highly successful business, and she now focuses her energy on the relatively new ‘Katydid Collection’ fashion line, which is proving very popular already. The Katydid Collection offers high trend fashions for men, women and children and includes accessories such as bags, hats and belts.
Katy has primarily used the Internet to sell her Shop For Bags products … starting out with Ebay and moving onto ecommerce shops to sell online. As well as search engine optimisation and extensive PR in fashion magazines to drive visitors to the website, Katy now also uses social networking such as Facebook to drive business, and you can see that Katydid Collection already has a large following of Facebook fans.
My only question to Katy is when oh when will she be stocking in the UK!
I feel a desperate urge to own one of those Katydid Collection dresses for a start, and she has some exceptionally cool laptop bags.
xx

Thank you both, I think it came out really well and love the swirls Katy had placed behind the design, I think they really add to it.
Katy has an outstanding collection of fashion designs, and a huge huge range across her two stores.

Ahhh thanks
You should track what Katydid is up to on Facebook (Katydid Collection), she really shows how it’s ‘done’ in terms of marketing the products. Any apparel designer can learn a lot from her.
