Folded Business Cards

Got lots to say when passing on your details? Why squeeze your message onto just a double sided flat business card when you can so easily have folded?
There are pro’s and con’s for this option of course, but if you feel like you just need to say a lot its a way of achieving that without ruining the aesthetics of your business card with squashed unreadable text rammed edge to edge.
Below you can see a collection of photographs I took of the folded business cards I had designed and printed for Timesavers last year (You can view other designs from their brand project on the main website >>)

Whilst these look great and yes you gain more space, the disadvantage is how much space they will take up in your card holder. In addition, of course folded cards are more costly to print compared to flat double sided business card printing.

Never really thought of folded designs or seen them in use before! Great identity you did for timesavers by the way.
Thanks Danny, got to say though, that with the card 350gsm card weight and the fold, they really are quite clunky. Look very nice though compared to bog standard flag cards and of course the benefit of space for info and clean design.
I’m thinking that if anyone ever does folded business cards that it might be better if the card weight is something like 250gsm maximum to get rid of some of the bulk for the fold. Which would mean asking the print firm for a custom job most likely.
I’d love to be involved in some more unusual card designs one day, you know like on metal, plastic, die cut and what not.
Like these! http://www.crazyleafdesign.com/blog/35-cool-and-inspirational-business-card-designs/
Unfortunately ideas like these cost money to print (let alone design) and most of my ‘small business’ clients would baulk at the overall cost of design and print f… lol … darn it – creativity costs.

If you don’t want to print leaflets a folded business card could get all you want to say accross without the additional outlay.
I find that cards are kept by many more people than leaflets which quite often get thrown away
I’ve heard that before actually, that the most useful marketing literature you can have is a business card.
these are good business cards i really like the design
We are offering tri-folded business cards now too. They have the extra space to promote a business as well as convey contact details. They are quite appealing and definitely more likely to be retained. I like your designs very much Amanda – really fresh:)
Thanks for the heads up, because this sort of card is actually quite hard to source I found, it’s not mentioned on your website though … well I couldn’t find it anyway.
As a note about printing services information; the firm I went with had it mentioned on their website, and any firm that didn’t I just presumed they didn’t offer that service rather than phoning all the print firms one by one.
