Four Years Of Business Success

Client Gifts

Big thanks to The Urban Kitchen today who sent me these very delightful gifts to thank me for my assistance over the years since they started their business.

The Urban Kitchen approached Truly Ace in 2004 to design a brand image for their gourmet catering business.

The Urban Kitchen not only offer corporate catering, and catering for events such as birthdays, wedding and hen parties, but also very popular cookery classes at two different London area locations.

The Urban Kitchen describe their classes as;
” ….fun, stimulating and interactive. The laid back yet professional nature of all the team members of The Urban Kitchen should put you at ease whatever the occasion or event.”

BRAND!
This company ethos is reflected in the quirky logo design created for them four years ago and still in force today;

The Urban Kitchen

The Urban Kitchen

Note the fun relaxed font (hey, cooking classes should be fun and I know events are!) and garnished with a sprig of non specific green herb to give the heavier purple shade a lift. The two colours can be both be found in various foods…green is obvious, and well purple foods are all around us ….onions, aubergines, grapes, plumbs.

I do however feel that the font could do with a update, as this font has become a bit ‘over used’ over the last four years, and I feel something equally relaxed and friendly yet less common would now be more advantageous for the brand.

Client Gifts So what have Urban Kitchen been up to over the last four years?

PR!
Well aside from hosting hundreds of classes for the eager public, they’ve also featured in Woman & Home Magazine helping actress, comedian and writer Helen Lederer cook up a storm, as well as enjoying a spot on the very popular BBC series ‘Spendaholics‘ – teaching a wayward spender how to cook great meals for less.
