I’m just starting work on what will be an enjoyable project for desk dry cleaner. Desk Dry Cleaner are a very long standing client, and we’ve recently re-designed their website as part of a new marketing drive and business development plans.

Desk Dry Cleaner’s new marketing plans revolve around the development of an idea we came up with for them in 2006. At that point in time we were required to create a concept for the front of a greeting card that would be sent to customers containing a voucher. Design shown below.

We suggested the concept of the genie character (I’m sure we all dream of a genie whisking our clothes away and bringing them back ready to wear, I know I do!!) and illustrated the below scene for them which is targeted at office employees, and used on the front of the card. There is a flying carpet containing the voucher information on the inside no less!

During the very recent re-design of their website I was asked to change ‘Genie’s’ image for the website (advertising ‘Genie Dry Cleaning’ and targeting consumers this time rather than businesses) into a female character from the current male genie.

From that thought onwards it was decided by the desk dry cleaner management team that rather than have ‘staff photos’ on the about us page of their website, it would be much more fun, interesting, and friendly to have ‘staff genies’.
