New Illustrations

I have just created these with my bare hands for Eve Street, I feel rather pleased with them and it’s been a while since I did character drawings like this (which I love) so feeling rather creatively satisfied right now!

Now this was the original colour scheme, but Eve Street decided they wanted something with a more striking and edgy colour palette and so settled on these two colourways below. Which I agree are pretty cool.

I love character design too, but like you don’t get to do a lot of it so I get a bit of the OMG can I do this when I finally do get a brief. I really like the bottom colourways with the girl in mostly black and white with the blobs (I sure there is a nicer word
) in the back ground.
Haha, wonderful to know that it’s not only me that gets the “OMG can I actually draw this?!” paranoia then!
Illustrations tend to be far more daunting compared to corporate branding and literature projects I feel. There’s always that inner lack of confidence telling you that you can’t actually draw it!
The blobs: I think we’ve been calling them ‘ink spots/splashes’ I think
xx
Excellent work. I would love to be able to do more illustrative work. Ive only had a couple of opportunities thus far, but think I may have to do some personal work to satisfy my cravings……just to find the time!
Yeah this is real good work! to drowing caracters need real talent! Congratulations!
The more you do them, the more of that sort of project you will attract, because obviously if you have a good number of illustrations in your portfolio it attracts that sort of project.
I don’t get tons of it compared to my other stuff, but I do get fairly regular illustrative work, which is always lovely.
Personal Work? I NEVER find the time, ha ha!
Like your portfolio and blog by the way, some very nice works
I try to do many time this character by ilistration by the results is diaster!.. Thats way you have to continiu to do this! there are many who does that but! realy you do good!
