Couture In A Box Project

I’ve been recently designing a product brand identity called ‘Couture In A Box’, a very unique couture gift available for purchase via an already established boutique.
The Logo Design Brief
A logo required to appeal to high-end female clients with significant disposable incomes, interested in acquiring bespoke one of couture pieces.
The brand needed to appear to be; elegant, stylish, quality, sophisticated.
The company have an already successful bespoke couture service, but Couture In A Box will offer the existing customer base the opportunity to purchase a bespoke couture boxed gift. The gift recipient receives the boxed material and an invitation to select a style of dress and to attend a fitting session. Very unique, yes
The first concept presented to the client below was accepted, see below. Hopefully you can see the concept of the material flowing from the dressmakers dummy into the box…indicating the bespoke nature of the service.

The Illustration Brief
An illustration was also required as a flourish to the brand and to decorate the top of the gift boxes that will contain the gift of bespoke couture.
It was specified that the illustration would need to be in the style of a ‘fashion illustration’. Quite a challenge because of course fashion illustrations are historically hand drawn and have a ‘hand drawn appeal’ to their style.
So my challenge was to create a scalable and highly practical vector illustration, but to make it look as hand drawn an ‘fashion illustration’ as possible.
I’m really pleased with the below result, as is the client.

If you are wondering why she is so moody, the brief was for a pouty model
The only change I need to make to tweak it to the clients satisfaction is to make the hair a bit bigger/higher up front, which I’ll probably be working on tommorow.

Hi Amanda
I just wanted to say how much I like this design - the text I find particularly appealing.
The only sad thing is that I doubt I’ll be getting such a gift myself in the near future

Thanks!
You’ve be surprised about how affordable they are actually.
I thought they would be very expensive gifts because of the custom fitting, but they aren’t really - in fact not far off the amount you would expect to pay for a nice dress in Monsoon for instance. Except this one is going to fit you perfectly.

What!? More great work! Well done Amanda, I hope her new haircut looks as good as this one, and she doesnt end up looking like she’s had a perm! haha

Thanks
It’s the same hair style exactly in the newer version sent to the client, just a tad more of a ‘bouffant’ to it
